Pano gear came in

April 21, 2009 - 9:20 PM

So this is what $1,200 worth of anodized aluminum looks like. I ordered from agnos last week; they shipped very quickly. The bigagnos is not what I expected, but I'll figure something out. It is composed of two ~5 ft sections that are attached together with a joint section. Basically what this means is I have to mount the camera on one section then raise it and slide it into the second, a proposition which I am not sure I want to do yet.

The other pano equipment is great though. The lens ring is just about what I was expecting. The only thing that would make this better would be some quick disconnects instead of having everything attach with hex screws. Set-up will take a considerable amount of time but I will figure something out.

How awesome is this? The great part is it clamps around the lens and positions the lens right at the nodal point so that stitching is easy! The base of the clamp and the rotator base are barely visible which is better than what I was doing before (I was using my tripod ring from the Sigma 100-300mm)
