In terms of innovation, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is really nothing new. Programs have come before it that do some of the same things and at times even better than Lightroom can. Where Lightroom shines is the fact that it is a complete package. Sure, you could use iView MediaPro 3 to organize, catalog, tag all your photos and then launch Bibble to create queues, batch convert, and then migrate over to Adobe Photoshop to do your final editing, but with Lightroom you get almost everything you need in a single program. With Lightroom, you can organize and catalog your photos, tag them for future searching, and when you are ready you can do mass edits and batch covert.
Right now, Lightroom might not be the best program for sorting your photos and it might have the most features in terms of image editing, but what it manages to do very well is considerably speed up your workflow. And at the end of the day, that's what matters.
And to assist you in increasing the efficiency of your workflow, I have compiled a cheat sheet of sorts for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom containing keyboard shortcuts which are sure to help you get things done more quickly. Not every shortcut in Lightroom has been presented, but I made sure to include all the ones that I feel might help out the most and crammed them on to a single page.
In the coming weeks, I will be working on an introduction to Lightroom as well as some other tutorials that may be helpful.
