On the 26th, I placed an order with Lenovo for a X60 Tablet + 8cell battery. They estimated my ship date to be 12/11 which would be a pretty long wait, but I figured it would be worth it. Three days later I get an e-mail from Lenovo telling me that my address could not be verified. I called in the next day and the rep went over my address with me and acknowledged that I had given them the right address. He ran the address again and informed me that somebody must've inputted the address incorrectly the first time (WTF?). Then on the 8th I got this e-mail:
Dear Valued Lenovo Customer,
We are emailing you with regard to your outstanding Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet order.
We apologize, but Lenovo is currently experiencing a delay in shipping the ThinkPad that you ordered. At this time we estimate a ship date of mid January.
If you would like to transition to a model that can ship sooner, please contact us at the number below and a sales representative will be happy to assist you.
Again. we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and we thank you for your patience.

If my estimated ship date was originally mid January, I probably would have canceled my order in the first place and mid January is actually so far from now that I considered canceling right when I read the e-mail until.... I decided to check my order status on Lenovo's website and to my disgust I find out that my 8 cell battery has shipped even though the laptop will be delayed for another month! So now I'm trapped. I can either upgrade my laptop or I can wait a month. Does that sound like bait and switch to you? This has honestly been one of the most annoying online orders I've done in a long time. Lenovo's thinkpads might be great computers, but at least Dell doesn't bullshit you with their inventory.
I guess I'm going to call on Monday to see which laptops AREN'T experiencing a delay in shipping.
