You must activate your card before using it

August 28, 2006 - 2:09 AM

I just got through with what had to be the strangest credit card activation ever with Washington Mutual :hsugh: So they changed their debit cards to Mastercard from Visa which isn't that big of a deal for me. I've put it off for a while but I decided to do it tonight while cleaning my room.

Being antisocial, I attempted to activate online but it told me to call in and activate. No problem. eek I call in and she has me verify my account number, the last four digits of my SS#, my address, birthdate, last four digits of the new debit card number....

Ok now it's activated right? No, not yet.

I then had to verifty my last bank statement transaction, the last transfer, and the last bank deposit. :hsugh: :hsugh: Is that enough information? hsughw

Windows Live Writer

August 16, 2006 - 1:20 AM

I'm testing out Windows Live Writer for the first time.  It's a remote program that links to many blog services including Windows Live Spaces.  It allows you to update your blog from an external application rather than logging on.  Other features I've found so far is the ability to insert pictures and have it upload to your blog via the blog interface or ftp. Some pretty neat stuff. It will detect your CSS style sheets and show you what your entries will look like as well. tear

This is actually very cool so far. You can go back and edit older entries and everything as well. Theres also the Windows Live Writer SDK which will allow some smarty pants developers to create some plugins for this.  It's only in beta right now, but this is looking very good, especially if you blog on multiple places.

Edit:  Here's a pretty good review on Windows Live Writer (saves me the trouble! tear ) link

phidong.com, now with RSS feeds

August 4, 2006 - 2:30 AM

I accidently deleted the RSS feeds when I first installed movable type so I thought it would be appropriate to bring it back. There are two seperate feeds since there are two main sections of this site. The first feed is for the main site or the page you're reading right now, basically everything that isn't in the class room. As you may already have guessed, the second feed is for the photoblog/classroom area so you can stay up to date on newly released photo tutorials (and they don't come often unfortunately). tear

You can find the two feeds on the left side of the main page. Should not be hard to find! tear
