This is not me.. at all.April 30, 2005 - 3:07 PMI found this from Loc's journal. The most horrible quiz ever.
Take the Online Dating Profile Quiz In reality, I could make it me. I could justify any 3 of the 10 choices, really. Online quizes are, well, a novelty. They don't tell us anymore about ourselves than we already know. :hsugh: |
gallery might not be workingApril 25, 2005 - 4:51 PMJeff informed me today that the intermediate pages on the gallery are not working. You can't view past page 1 when viewing albums. I'll hopefully have this fixed by Wednesday. You can still view the full galleries by viewing the image and then advancing past the first page through that navigation. Sorry for the inconvenience, although I doubt anyone even views that stuff :o

dreamhost wtf?April 20, 2005 - 12:43 PMDreamhost seems to have disabled php include?
I sent them a message regarding this, hopefully I get a reply soon.
Nevermind, they did in fact disable includes. But after seconds of studying the language of php, I devised a way to work around this limitation and phidong.com is now running again at full speed.

weekend detailsApril 16, 2005 - 7:35 PMI came out of retirement for two days and spent the beginning of this weekend detailing cars. It's kind of nice being away from everything but at the same time it is pretty tiring work. My back hurts a bit and my arms and legs ache from standing around all day, holding that damn heavy PC.
I wash and waxed Jonathan's 91 Supra (updated gallery) and did a full detail on Dan's 96 Honda Civic (new gallery). I half assedly washed my car too, updated gallery there but I didn't link it because it sucks.

phidong.com presents.. a photo blogApril 13, 2005 - 2:00 AM
This should be interesting.
For reasons unknown, I've decided to start a photoblog where I'll talk mainly about photography related subjects. I used to try to integrate them into posts where people might still find them interesting, but I decided to move the majority of the nerd material to a different blog. It's actually the same blog, but different categories. Anyway, you can access that portion of the site at the top left (where it says photoblog), just follow the video tutorial. Theres plenty more where that came from. :p |
Long Beach VSA Culture NightApril 3, 2005 - 1:06 AMI went with Loc down to Long Beach to cover their culture night (Tim was in it). I didn't really feel like taking pictures, so didn't really move around much. It was really dark in the auditorium. Luckily for mee, I brought my kneepod.

It's like that..April 1, 2005 - 7:50 PMDespite our most valient efforts, we cannot escape our destinies. It's like that moment when everything is going wrong. It slips out of your hand. The glass cup tumbles towards the ground in slow motion, drink and all. All you have to do is divert it's course. Grab it from it's free fall before it meets it's inevitable doom. It's easy. It's just that easy, but it really isn't. Theres no stopping it. In many ways the ball has already been set into motion the moment the cup slipped from your hand. You turn away. You ignore it. Maybe it'll go away. There is no glass on the floor to sweep, no cuts. Just a lesson to be learned. In many ways my quarter is the falling cup. It's been falling. I turn and look away, trying to ignore the sillhouette of the cup falling. I pay attention to the things around me instead and that's where everything went wrong. I click on student access and then slide my mouse over to "grades". I don't want to see the glass shatter. In my mind, I see the words. "Everything always turns out ok." I wish life were as simple as those 5 words, but it isn't. Life is complex, full of lessons to be learned. My lesson today is not to turn away. Face your destiny. Alter it before it's too late. You CAN stop the glass from hitting the floor. Theres a reason it all happens in slow motion. |
