Another Detail

January 23, 2005 - 11:33 PM

I spent the weekend, or some of it, detailing another car. This time it was pretty easy since Tio helped me out. He was buffing off all the stuff after I put it on with the PC so I wouldn't have to turn the PC off and put it down every 1/4 panel. It took about 4-5 hours total (including the second day for the wax). It turned out pretty damn good. The paint is really deep now. coold

I still need to wash my car from the rainy season, but I'm a bit reluctant since I don't have my lip anymore (it broke when I drove into a parking block tear ) Anyway, pictures.. of course.

If you're going to do something, go all out.

January 13, 2005 - 12:01 AM

The final piece of the puzzle arrived today when I got home. I wasn't feeling too well, so it was a little bit of a pleasant suprise (I forgot I ordered it). The package was light and when I opened it if found my Ratpadz GS hard mousing surface. Its a piece of plastic with a crackle like finish on the top. My Logitech MX mouse was having problems mousing on my old Falken mousepad that I got from D1GP last year, so I figured I might as well get a gaming mousepad. My first impression of the pad is that its a lot larger than I thought it'd be. Compared to a regular mousepad, its a bit longer vertically and quite a bit larger horizontally (almost 1.5x as long). After using it for just a day I can tell you that it is very nice. smiles Definitely a lot better than mousing on my Falken mouspad or even the Wacom Tablet I was using temporarily. grin

Honestly, after using my current mouse/keyboard set-up I can safely say that if you're not using an optical or laser mouse with a real gaming pad, you're not using a mouse. smilesdd The accuracy and feel of the set-up is unbelievably better. redface I just wish I was better... hs

I've been so sick lately. I started taking medication at the beginning of the week (on Sunday) and haven't really had the energy to do anything. It started off with a sore throat and a cold and now its mostly just the throat. I thought it was getting a bit better, but it seems to be taking a dive for the worse. I've just been sleeping lately and drinking a LOT of water, but I don't know if its helping. I honestly feel like shit right now. I remember thinking last week (when I was healthy) how much I take being healthy for granted and then .. bam! I'm sick. frown

a late christmas

So my lopsided keyboard finally had to go, I decided to replace it with something a little more flashy. In comes the Logitch MX Duo. coold I'm liking it so far. The extra buttons are pretty convenient (especially the media controls on the keyboard). The mouse is pretty nice, I never knew that wireless mice were so nice smilesdd I can use the keyboard from across the room to control the media on my computer or type (but I can't even see that far redface ) I also got a wired remote for my camera, which I modified (lengthened) to use my patented overhead shots. smiles

back into full swing

January 7, 2005 - 6:07 PM

School is finally back into full swing. The good news is that, well, I have something to do. The bad news is, I didn't do so hot last quarter, so I have a lot of things to turn around basically. hs The first week has been pretty interesting. I'm taking three and a half classes. Well, its really four classes if you want to get technical, but the fourth one isn't really a complete class in a sense.

Math 3D
Dynamics (MAE 80)
ENGCEE 81B (more on this in a bit)
Ecoomics 20A

So I've been to class pretty mch every day so far. I've been late by like 5-10 minutes to a couple ohnoes but nothing too major. Its amazing how simple things begin to appear when you actually try. Heh. Anyway, Math 3D seems pretty ok so far. I swear my professor taught 50 cent how to rap because he doesn't open his mouth when he talks. ugh I've come to the conclusion that sitting in the front row so I can hear his low volume mumbles should help to curve my grade up 5% at the LEAST! laugh

Economics 20A was pretty ok. The major downside I project this quarter is going to be the fact that econ 20a's discussion is on Tuesdays. at 5pm . Theres a four hour break in between my Math class and the discussion, which is going to be very.. interesting (or not interesting) rice

Dynamics. ugh I hope evertyhing goes well with this class. Good news is my professor speaks English, which should boost my comprehension of the topics by a lot, but his lecturing style is kind of interesting because he doesn't really solve any problems he just sets them up and makes jokes. ugh We'll see how this turns out. redface

The fourth, or third and a half class I'm taking is CEE81B. Its a weird class that my professor who I will call Dr. Jay (because his name has like 200 letters in it) says is to get us excited about Civil Engineering. rice Lecture is one day a week and there is a lab one day a week, but 5 of those labs are going to be spent watching videos on Civil Engineering. It should be an interesting quarter. dunno

I'm going bowling right now, for the first time in a long time. Looks like dynamics will have to wait! smiles
