Positive news, negative feedback.

April 30, 2004 - 10:58 PM

A grueling week over, another one coming up. It was a tough week to begin with. Chemistry 1C midterm on Monday, Lab on Tuesday, Calculus/Physics HW on Thursday along w/ Physics Quiz and Econ midterm.. then a Calculus miterm on Friday. I ended up skipping the Physics hw and quiz and instead focused on my three midterms for the week.

Chemistry
Economics
Calculus

I messed up in Chem. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid mistakes. You know that feeling you get when you read the book before the exam and you say to yourself, REMEMBER THIS! IT WILL BE ON THE EXAM!.. and then you take the damn thing and you forget? Well, it happened to me. Nineteen problems, I missed three problems because of two STUPID mistakes (I didn't notice it was an ionic compound, so I didn't include i, which is the number of particles that the soln breaks up into into my equations), nevertheless.. I scored above the mean. I just can't help to think what if...... what if I got the 3 extra points? I would have had a 16/19, which is a solid B without a curve... After two consecutive quarters of C-'s in Chemistry, its hard not to be wanting a little more from myself...

Econ was a little easier. I studied hard for it. 2 hours one day, about 4-6 the other. I skipped Physics discussion and Calculus discussion (After I turned in Calc homework) just to study for Econ. I grabbed something to eat and then walked in and took the test. How'd I do? I'm not sure, but I hope I did well. I messed up graphing because I didn't remember what Human Capital is. After writing the problem out incorrectly in pen, I realized Human Capital is measured by people's education/skill/training. Its over now, though. Something I'll have to remember for the final.

Calculus. Oh Calculus! When I first started at UCI, Calculus was my nemesis. I came in and got a D/F on my very first midterm at UCI and I was freaking out. The mean was a like a 70% and I scored in the 50's, so I dedicated myself to it and turned things around. I've gotten B's in the last two quarters for Calc (even though one was a B-).. but Math 2D.. man. 3 dimensional functions are just a little bit out of my visualization spectrum. I just don't see it! Regardless, I went to tutoring two days in a row and put over 18 hours of studying over a course of three days +1 hour before the exam and I think I did pretty well. I'm hoping to score a B without curve, which would be a B+ with curve? I hope? We'll see.

eBay update
I e-mailed Beth Barbonda again and I received no reply. I hate to do it, and I've only done it like 3 times throughout 100+ auctions, but I decided I had to do it. Negative feedback given. Its not really that I even want the extra items (although it does add resale value), its the principle of listing the itmes in your description, then lying to the buyer about "oops sorry I forgot but I'm sending them out" and never doing it.

advert xtr itms/only sent lens/lied about shipping rest/WLD NEVER BUY FROM AGAIN

I hate the 80 character limit. *sigh*

I also decided to give negative feedback for my other auction. An update:
I did receive an EXTRA set of batteries from AF. He decided to send me one for "all my trouble," according to him. The problem? I decided I can't be bought. I had to e-mail over 10 times and called them twice just to get them to believe me. They lied to me three times, once stating that they had "gone out of town for business" and then once saying "we shipped it out".. another saying "we'll ship it monday". I'm not sure if theres people working there or if its one person, but the e-mails seem to me that one person runs the damn thing and the convo I had on the phone makes me believe that its only one person, which means there was a LOT of lying going on during the whole transaction.

By the way, I made SURE that both parties had given me feedback prior to giving neg. I hate retaliation negative feedbacks, they are ridiculous.

BAD comm. 10 eml/2 tel calls to get both items, sent extra but not worth troule

Well... thats all for now. I have a Physics midterm on Friday. The fun continues.

DO NOT BUY FROM "Auction-Fulfillment"

April 27, 2004 - 9:17 AM

Straight up. These guys are on eBay, but they're fucking frauds. I bought two sets of batteries on the 5th, and I paid on the 5th. On the 12th, I receive my package. To my dismay, upon opening the yellow envelope, I found only one package of batteries. Keep in mind, they run a ton of dutch auctions, so you would THINK that something like this would not slip. I immediately contacted them via e-mail, informing them that I had not received my second set of batteries.

Question from eBay Member: 4 Panasonic AA Rechargeable Batteries 1950mAh

Dear auction-fulfillment,

I bought a couple packs of these. Wondering if you shipped yet. I'm in Southern California and haven't heard any word from you since I paid.

To view the item, go to: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3807976728

Thank you,

For one, it took them quite a long time to get the package out to me. They shipped it on the 11th and I got it on the 12th. Reason? I'm in fucking southern california, right by them. .. keep reading

E-mailing to let you know that I ordered two sets of batteries and you only sent me one.

I received today and only one pack (4 batteries) when I ordered two (8 batteries).

If you check paypal records, I transferred 21.99 to you on April 5, 2004 and it was accepted same day. That?s the price for two battery packs.

Thank you,

Phi

I?m just wondering if you ever got around to shipping the second set of batteries. I ordered this and urgently needed the second pack. I opened the envelope and there was only one. Please check the amount of money I paid on April 5, 2004 (21.99) which is for two sets of batteries, and on eBay it shows me purchasing a quantity of 2 in your dutch auction. I haven?t heard any word from you regarding the tracking number or received my second set of batteries yet. Please get back to me ASAP?

Phi

Yes, I would think you should have got them today...If you dont receive tomorrow please let me know..Thanks.

Since then, I have e-mailed him four times:
Hey, I still haven?t received the package. I?m getting a little worried by your lack of responses and I just want to settle this issue. Do you have a tracking order on the second package you sent out? If you don?t intend to send the package out, refund the money to my paypal account. I?ve never had so many problems with a dutch auction before.

Auction-Fullfillment:

I?m e-mailing to let you know that I have been extremely unsatisfied with the service that I have gotten from your company. I have been using eBay for three years and only had one or two hiccups that were quickly fixed (and one that wasn?t?). I purchased two sets of batteries on the 5th and promply paid on the 5th (paypal records show this). I purchased two sets, and eBay and the price I paid clearly reflects said amount. On the 12th (7 days later), I received ONE set of batteries and I e-mailed you as soon as I opened the package. You e-mailed a day later saying that you?d get me the package.

Today is the 23rd, 11 days since you e-mailed me back telling me that you would get me the 4 AA Rechargeable batteries. I live in Southern California, so shipping of the batteries should take no more than 3 days on UPS ground. I have requested that you provide me with a tracking number for the second package of batteries, but my e-mails have all been ignored. It is definitely understandable that you went out of town for business, but you e-mailed me on the 16th stating that you would send the package out on Monday. It is now the end of Thursday and I haven?t heard from you since Tuesday. I am getting worried about our most recent transaction. In my last e-mail, I said I would send out a paypal request for a refund of the money for one package of batteries. I will take the loss on the combined shipping (that?s the only reason I purchased two sets), but Paypal is currently under maintenance. If it is possible to resolve this issue by receiving my second package of batteries, I would appreciate that.

Please resolve this ASAP. All I wanted was my batteries, I do not understand why this transaction has become so difficult.

Phi

I?m e-mailing to let you know that I still have not received the second set of batteries that I ordered. Have you even sent it out yet?!

My address is:

My paypal is: [xxx]

And my eBay username is: [xxx]

Please get back to me ASAP. I really need these batteries for an upcoming shoot.

-----------------------

Dude,

WHERE THE HELL are my batteries? I?ve e-mailed FOUR times after this e-mail from you under 3 different e-mail addresses and I haven?t gotten a SINGLE response. Its bee 7 days since I got this e-mail from you saying I should?ve gotten them ?today? but ?today? passed 7 days ago. I?m letting you know, AGAIN, that I still haven?t received ANYTHING. I?m waiting on my second pack.

The Curse of eBay?

April 16, 2004 - 3:22 PM

Wow. Lately all my shipments have been coming in VERY VERY VERY slowly. I ordered two packs of 4 NiMh rechargable batteries on the 4th and didn't receive anything till well over a week later. When I opened the package... one pack of batteries. I e-mailed auction-fullfillment (ironic name.. because they didn't fulfill my order) and they promptly replied:

"Sorry Phi, we'll get another one going to you..."

I e-mailed two days later requesting tracking number. Nothing. Whats going on here? I paid 22 bucks for the fucking batteries.. and I WANT THEM.

Then, a day later I "accidently" won a Zenitar 16mm fisheye lens. The auction stated.. "For Canon EOS, manual aperture. Brand new, multicoated, with case, with filters, with front cap, with manual, in box." I opened the package today to only find the lens.. PERIOD. What the hell?

Am I just asking to get ripped off or something? Both of these fools are going to receive negative feedbacks if I don't get the problem resolved soon. I just don't know whats up anymore. The third/fourth auctions that I have won in the past week haven't even sent their items or contacted me at all yet. Just to put things into perspective, I paid each auction ON THE DAY OF it ending.

I'm just really pissed right now. These people need to get their fucking act together.

Fuck eBay.

Cal State Long Beach CN

April 9, 2004 - 11:06 PM

I traveled over to Long Beach with Loc and watched/photographed CSULB's Vietnamese Culture Night. The entire show was pretty good.. there were only a couple of little mistakes that didn't really bother me. The photography went by pretty well. I shot at a pretty high ISO because it was dark and tested out two flashes, which probably did more bad than it did good.

I think I caused some weird shadows to go on, or the 2nd flash didn't help that much at all. The stupid people at the theatre were tripping out on me and loc bringing our "tripods" into the theatre.. MONOPOD fools!

Anyway.. I think I'm starting to hate Jewish people.. grr..

Blah.. More on that later.

Enjoy the pictures kids..

One break down the drain.

April 3, 2004 - 3:18 PM

Wow.. it started out going so well. I was doing stuff I've never done before, going out .. exploring. Then I checked my bank acount. Balance - 30 dollars. Hmm.. "I better cut back," I said to myself and then..

BAM.

Over. I haven't done shit since the Getty museum. I feel like thats how my life is going. .. It starts out ok, then spirals into a hole. I've set-up 3 photoshoots with people that aren't named Phi over the past week and all 3 fell through. Sometimes I wonder if this whole gig is even for me. I'm just sitting here with all my equipment .. but no talent. This is pathetic.

I'm pathetic.

On a brighter note, I passed all my classes. Eat that, college!
